Henrik Purienne : “What do you say to them that’s so fucking funny?”

Currently based in Cape Town South Africa, fashion photographer and documentary filmmaker Henrik Purienne already has an impressive client list including American Apparel, Stussy and Adidas. In 2009 he launched the annual fashion magazine ‘Mirage’, a 400+page vision of fashion, swimwear, and jetset hedonism.
An interviewer once asked, “What is an average day like for Henrik Purienne?” His reply; “I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had an average day.”
Create are pleased to present his first UK exhibition, accompanied by Create Publishing’s launch of the accompanying zine, documenting the ‘before and after shots’ taken from his fashion shoots.
“While editing my book, I realised every spool has one or 2 shots of girls cracking up at jokes between posing”, my ex-girlfriend use to ask me, “What do you say to them that’s so fucking funny?”
The exhibition’s opening night & zine release will be held at Space@Create on Thursday 7th of March, and the exhibition will run until the 24th March.
